"Living" at the Beach

Justin and I have been lamenting how little time we've spent at the beach since buying our house for a few reasons:

1. Before we bought the house, we pretty much went to the beach every weekend and it was awesome.
2. Our rental was 20 minutes away from the beach.
3. The house we bought is less than 3 minutes away from the beach.
4. We made this huge effort to buy on the island in order to go to the beach and the house ended up taking all of our time.
5. The baby will arrive any day now and who knows what life will be like then?

Yesterday we both realized we had completed all of our necessary house chores and decided to have a much needed beach day.  It was the best!  The temperature down here is finally dropping (as in low 80's instead of close to 90) and the water is still super warm.  It was exactly what we needed.

We also got to finally try out our new telephoto lens for our digital SLR in regards to taking pictures of Justin surfing.  It is amazing how much easier it is and how much better the pictures are.  I was able to sit in my beach chair at least 50 yards away and take some great shots of Justin catching waves.

Posted up under the umbrella - 10 days until the due date!
Gorgeous day!

Everyone keeps telling us "your lives are about to change!" . . . we get it.  You don't have to tell us that.
Just don't be surprised that once we get our routine with baby going, these outings to the beach will start up again.  There is something about a beach day that is a total "life reset" - it puts you in a better mood and spirit.  I have a feeling as new parents we will need that more than anything!
