Our first trip back to VA - for Chance & Lauren's wedding!

We just got back last night from a wonderful weekend in Virginia.  The weather was beautiful (a little chilly for our liking though!) and we got to celebrate the most awaited wedding of the decade - Chance & Lauren finally tied the knot!  As Justin so aptly put it, we were all so happy because they finally made it official.

We did have quite the travel story from Friday, however.  We were supposed to leave for the airport around 1 pm on Friday.  Here's Justin lounging by the pool that morning, thinking we were going to have an easy breezy traveling day:
When we got back from the pool, we had a message from US Airways saying that our flight had been delayed two hours.  Then we had another one saying our flight was delayed three hours . . .
Justin got on the phone and got us on an earlier flight, but we needed to leave asap.  We left the house around noon.

When we got to the airport, we learned that our new flight was now also delayed.  Delayed past the point of the original flight, so we got back on our original flight, and we were upgraded to first class!  Things seemed to be going our way.   Then we watched our departure time get pushed back another hour.  And then another hour . . . We were originally supposed to arrive at Reagan at 5:53 pm.  We were now going to land at 10:30 pm.

We got switched to a whole other airline (thank you, United!), got demoted back to coach (sigh), and ended up flying into Dulles and arriving at 9:00 pm.  We didn't get to June and Ralph's until 10:00!  We made the most of it and had some delicious chili out on the back porch around the fire pit with both sets of parents.  It ended up being a great night even though we had been traveling for 10 hours.  We could have driven to VA in 14!

Saturday morning we headed over to Leesburg and it was a gorgeous fall day!

Chance and Lauren got married at Rose Hill Manor in Leesburg, and it was a beautiful location.  The weather couldn't have been better and the house itself was amazing inside and out.  Everyone looked amazing and so happy!

Here comes the bride!  Doesn't she look ah-mah-zing?

Yay! It's happening!

Justin had "that kind of night"
My absolute favorite part of the wedding was their creative guest book/party favors!  They had a photo booth - with props!  The machine spit out two copies - one for the guest book and one as your party favor.  Hands down, best guest book/party favor I've ever heard of.

We are so happy for you two, Lauren & Chance!  Congratulations again!
