As we get more settled in our new home, I fall in love with each room for a different reason. The guest room just got a bit of a face lift when we brought home the quilt and shams that used to be in our bedroom in Nags Head (Barracuda house) and now it reminds us of one of our favorite places in the world!
Open for business! Fill my drawers!
We also brought back two framed prints from Barracuda - here is a close up of one of them:
Both of them have a great coastal feel and have vintage images of sand pails with Mickey on friends on them. As I said to Justin the other day, "They're perfect. Because Mickey lives in Florida, you know. We live in the same state as Mickey!" He was not quite as excited as me.
The guest bedroom closet was also serving as a "just throw it in there" space since we moved in. I'm still storing some items in there (extra lampshade, our luggage, for example) but there is also plenty of space for guests to use, and I have extra pillows, quilts, blankets and a comforter in there. As you can see on the right, my dad has already taken up two of those shelves with some items he decided to "leave" here.
Both sides are open for guests to hang whatever they need to:
I don't know if I have been reading Martha Stewart Living for too long, but I have always enjoying being an accommodating hostess for guests. Now that we have a house, it's a lot easier for me to do that with all of this extra space. The guest bathroom is fully stocked with any essential a guest would need.
Full size toothpaste, cotton balls and q-tips are on the counter:
Extra soap, nail file and nail clippers in the drawer:
No need to bring your own hair dryer or straightener! (More room in that carry-on for cute warm weather clothes!)
In addition to the full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion that I keep stocked in here, I also have a bin of other items guests might have forgotten:
Toothbrushes (great use for the ones you get for free from the dentist, since we use electric, or just pick some up from the Dollar Tree!), floss, razors, hair spray, lens cleaner, contact cases, etc, etc, etc!
