Last summer, I found an abandoned, rusty, pretty sad looking beach cruiser with a broken chain and brought it home. (I get this scavenger instinct from my Dad, who likes to pick stuff up like lawn mowers at the dump and fix them up). Justin put a new chain on it and had been riding it "as is" for the past year. As the house is starting to come together, he had some free time to work on his bike. He made quite the transformation and I only wish I had thought to take a picture of the bike in one piece before he started!
Here are some pictures of the bike all taken apart. Note the rust and general sad looking appearance.

Rust, rust, rust |
He did most of the rehab work with a wire brush - absolutely amazing for removing rust. Look how shiny his chain ring is now! He also decided to change the handlebars for "ape hangers" and got some new grips.
Ready for the "final" product? I say "final" because he still wants to get new tires. He is thinking red-walled black tires.
Look at the glint-y shine coming off of those rims! NICE.
