Farewell, Summer!

As summer comes to a close, here's a review of what we accomplished and experienced over the past three months!  Some of it was on the blog, in case you missed it, and other stuff I just never got around to posting!

We started the summer with an organized garage.

Then Justin fixed up his bike.

Before our house renovations began, we celebrated our FOUR year anniversary.

I headed to Northern Virginia and Nags Head while Justin supervised the renovations.

While I was gone, my mom and I created art for the baby's room.  I also made these adorable cupcakes.

My mom and I drove back to Florida at the beginning of July, and while the house wasn't quite finished, we worked hard the following two weeks to get to this point: The Big Reveal!

Open kitchen - success!
We also made progress in the nursery.  Justin and I finished it all up about two weeks ago.  We are completely ready for baby Watts - which is only 30 days away!  And actually, we've added some more stuff since I took this picture, since our changing pad arrived for the top of the dresser.

We improvised with some curtains we already had when we couldn't get the original bi-fold closet door back up (and our stupid contractor ordered the wrong size for the new one, then we had to fire him . . .)

Okay, back to the end of July.   The last weekend of July, Justin and I flew to Northern Virginia for two big parties - the Carson family reunion/Pop-pop's 101st birthday in Havre de Grace, Maryland, and our baby shower in Fairfax!

The whole family!

The theme of the baby shower was vintage toys and books - and it turned out so cute!

Girl or Boy? The question will soon be answered!

Justin and Sandy were exhausted afterwards!
After that whirlwind weekend, we came home for four days before packing up for our week vacation in Nags Head.  It was so awesome to get away!  Our last vacation together before baby and we really needed a break from the house.

The best part of our vacation - the new sod in our yard was being installed while we were away.  See before and after pictures here.

August flew by with blog posts galore - blinds, blinds, and more blinds, the trials of buying area rugs, a discovery in our garage, the introduction of Frugal Friday and its follow-up, and as we get closer to baby, my experiences with nesting here and here.

It's been a crazy busy summer and we wrapped it up in style.  The Wallaces of Fernandina and Tampa came to visit for Labor Day weekend!

We took full advantage of the pool and the beautiful weather:

We had a great weekend and now summer's over and the 30 day countdown to baby Watts has begun! We have never been more excited!
