Lila turned 21 months today . . . I can't believe she is only 3 months away from being 2.
We just got over a vicious stomach bug that rocked our household. Lila came down with it late Thursday night (Justin wasn't even home from Rochester, NY yet) and we took her to the ER. When we had called our pediatrician, there was concern it might be a concussion because she had hit her head on the corner of our dining table the day before . . . and the ER doc ruled out concussion and gave her some medicine for the vomiting. Thank goodness! We got home from the ER Friday morning at 4 a.m. and all hunkered down in our bed to sleep. We were so sleep deprived Friday that Lysoling the whole house was not the top priority (as it should have been . . .) I started feeling terrible Saturday morning, and Justin following close behind on Saturday afternoon. The 48 hours after was miserable. We were hanging on by threads, trying to also take care of Lila, who seemed on the mend. Then Sunday, Lila got sick again . . . it was rough all around. I'm happy to report that we are all finally feeling better today, although still tired from the long weekend! Despite being so sick, she was in a great mood today and happily smiled for some 21 month pictures. It helped that Dada was making "Aja" (the doll, of Jem and the Holograms fame) dance and sing along the dining table:
We also went to the zoo last weekend and finally signed up for our annual family pass. Lila loved feeding the cockatiels:
And I had to snap a picture when she set up her Fisher Price Little People at the dining table to "eat"
And while she may have a growing obsession with 80's cartoon, Jem, she still LOVES her Poppins:
Justin and I agree that this has been one of our absolute favorite ages so far. She is talking so much now - putting 2 or 3 words together at a time, and really starting to communicate. Today when she was watching a little TV with Justin before dinner, and I was cooking, I came over to watch a little too, and she pointed to the kitchen and said "Mama! Cook!" She is a smart little girl and we love her to pieces!
Lila is so adorable! It must've been distressing for you when she got that stomach bug, plus the fact that she might have had a concussion. But you did the right thing, as concussions may not be easily detected on children nor can they express their thoughts easily. Anyway, I hope she's back to her happy self by now! Take care!

It’s great that you were able to visit the zoo, amidst the trouble you had with the stomach bug. I can only imagine how hard it was for your family, and I’m glad to see you’ve recovered from that illness. I hope you won’t experience the same issue in the upcoming days. Take care!
