Like I mentioned in previous posts, we had 9 people, 3 dogs and a baby in the house over the holidays. We thought it would probably be a good idea to have some "outings" planned to get everyone out and about. One of the outings we decided on was the Brevard Zoo, which is about 30 minutes away from us. It is awesome! One of the best zoos I've been to. They have a ton of animals and some really cool exhibits like an aviary house, where you can feed birds and they will land on you. It has a great layout and you can tour the entire zoo in about 2 hours. I think there was only one or two exhibits where we couldn't actually see the animal, which I thought was much better than the National Zoo in DC, where sometimes it seems like all of the animals are hiding. It wasn't crowded at all and you could take your time at each one without feeling rushed.
We went the day before Christmas Eve, so Lila wore some of her Christmas garb, courtesy of Justin's cousins Dana and Chris. We realized she matched our Christmas Kermit perfectly, so we had to get them together before heading off to the zoo:

Crocs (the badass kind, not silly rubber shoes) |
Bald Eagle |
Jaguar |
Lila slept the entire visit . . . oh well! |
Kangaroo |
Bats |
Chad in the aviary house |

Beautiful bird |
Natalie Portman |
Rhino |
The most amazing part was the giraffe exhibit. You can go right up to them and feed them crackers!

We took a ton of great pictures with the giraffe:
Some more cool animals:
Baird's Tapir |
Macaw |
Cheetah |
Baby monkey = almost cuter than Lila |
Mommy and baby |
Blue macaw like the movie "Rio" |
Capybaras |
Fun for all ages! |
Come visit and we'll take you! I can't wait until Lila is older; she is going to love it!
