The other "Watts in Florida"

Justin's parents came for to visit this past weekend and we had the best time!  It was so nice to catch up and have family here.  We went to a bunch of new restaurants in Melbourne and found some awesome places to eat.

Wednesday night we went to Longdoggers on the beachside - great beachy dive with really good food.  They had a guy playing steel drums and a corn hole tournament in the parking lot.  Our hairdresser Sarah recommended it - and we ended up running into her while we were there!  We also sat at this table:
Then we went to Moo's Soft Serve next door for dessert - just your standard soft serve but it was yummy!
"I'm on a BOAT!"
Thursday night we found a GREAT barbecue place called Charlie & Jake's over the Eau Gallie causeway.  Their barbeque sauce was SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD.  They have a smoker in the back, and the pulled pork was good, but their ribs was where it was at.   Fall off the bone and so tender.  Their hushpuppies were fantastic too!

Friday night we headed back over to Eau Gallie (which is the Arts District in Melbourne) for a Dog Days of Summer Art Festival.  They have some very cool art and vintage furniture shops over there.

They even had a dog themed band playing called "Dog Bones" - all of the members were wearing Pluto hats!
Saturday we went to Melbourne Beach and had a beach day - we went to the Spressard Holland North access and had lunch at Billie's.  It was probably our favorite find of the trip!  We thought it would just be standard burgers and dogs on the beach, but they had a great menu and they made all of their items fresh.  They even bake their own Italian bread!  And they cut the potato for your fries when you order them.  Best fries I've had in a long time!  Plus they were playing Jimmy Buffett, so you know I was digging it.

Saturday night we headed out to Matt's Casbah in downtown historic Melbourne.  Really great food . . . service was so-so.  Kind of made it hard to enjoy just how good the food actually was!  I really enjoyed the cheesecake for dessert - it was very light and fluffy.  We took some pictures before we headed to dinner:
Looking like Floridians already!

Overall, it was a wonderful visit and we were sad to say good-bye at the airport today!
